Band mileage calculator
Every player’s round trip from their own postcode, at the band’s rate per mile.
Put the venue’s postcode in, then each player’s name and their own postcode. The calculator looks up the real driving distance there and back for each of them, multiplies it by the rate your band pays, and gives you each person’s travel money and the total for the gig.

Why per player, and why the round trip
A band’s travel is not one journey. Everybody drives from their own front door, so the drummer twenty minutes away and the singer two hours away cost the band very different amounts — one figure for the whole gig tells you nothing about who is owed what.
The distance is out and back, looked up as two separate drives and added together, because a route is not always the same length in both directions. It is the same figure Event Band Manager puts on a real statement.
Once you know each person’s travel, the usual next step is to take it out of the fee before the split, so nobody pays for the gig by driving to it. The pay split calculator does exactly that.
Questions about band mileage
Is it the round trip?
Yes. Each player’s distance is from their own postcode to the venue and back again, looked up as real driving distance in both directions and added together. If you type a distance in by hand, type the round trip as well — there and back, not one way.
What rate per mile should a band use?
Whatever the band agrees. It is the band’s own arrangement for sharing its own money, and 25p a mile is a common figure for a UK band. HMRC’s approved mileage rate — 55p a mile for the first 10,000 business miles from the 2026 to 2027 tax year — is about a person’s own tax return and does not oblige a band to pay it. The band chooses.
Does it work outside the UK?
Yes — the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Pick the country at the top and the form takes that country’s money and places: postcodes, Eircodes, ZIP codes or postal codes. Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand work in kilometres and a rate per kilometre; the UK and the US in miles.
Is anything I type stored?
No. There is no account and nothing you type is saved against you. The only thing the page sends anywhere is the pair of postcodes for each distance lookup; the distance between two postcodes is kept so the same pair never has to be looked up twice, but no name and nothing about you is kept with it.
