What this is

Event Band Manager helps a band and its managers keep track of bookings, pay, expenses and the day-to-day admin around gigging. An account is either set up for you by a manager or created by you; either way a band links you in. By using the site you agree to these terms and to the privacy notice.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your own sign-in secure — do not share your password, and tell a manager if you think someone else has got into your account. What you enter (a fee, an expense, an available date) is taken as coming genuinely from you.

What the figures mean

The app calculates pay splits, travel and expenses from the figures a band or its managers enter. It does not move money itself, and is not a bank or a payment service. What actually gets paid, and when, is still a real arrangement between people, the same as it always was; the app is the record of it. Tax and mileage figures the site mentions are for guidance and are not tax advice.

Bookings, quotes and invoices

A band that uses the bookings tools is responsible for what it sends its clients — the prices, the terms and the accuracy of an invoice — and for the client details it enters. A quote a client accepts through the site is an agreement between the band and that client; the site records it and is not a party to it.

Subscriptions

Most of the app is free. The paid parts are bought as a subscription, billed monthly and charged per person — you hold the credits, and you decide which band each one sits on.

• Cancel any time, from the Stripe portal linked under Settings. There is no minimum term and no notice period.
• A credit stays on its band to the end of the month it is on. Cancelling does not pull it off mid-month, and you cannot move it to another band mid-month either.
• Seven days' grace, then read-only. When a band's last credit ends, it carries on as normal for seven days and then goes read-only: everything still opens and downloads, and nothing is deleted — you just cannot add to it until a credit goes back on.
• No refunds for part months. You keep what you paid for until the end of the month you paid for. An upgrade starts straight away and is invoiced for the rest of the month; a downgrade takes effect at the renewal.
• The owner may end a subscription where an account is being used abusively, or outside the fair-use section below.

Card details go to Stripe and never touch this site. Prices may change with notice; a change never applies to a month already paid for.

Prices are set in pounds sterling. Outside the UK, the checkout shows and charges the equivalent in your own currency at the rate Stripe offers on the day, which includes Stripe’s conversion fee; a refund goes back in that currency at the same rate. You can choose to pay in pounds instead, in which case your bank or card issuer may convert it and add its own fee.

The free tools and the demo

The pay-split calculator, the invoice generator and the demo band need no account and keep nothing you enter. Their figures are worked out from what you type and are a guide, not advice; check them before you rely on them.

Deleting your account

You can close your own account at any time under Settings → Your data, and take a copy of everything of yours with you first. Your name becomes "Former member", your personal details are wiped and your login is removed.

What stays is the bands' own financial records — statements, expenses and history — because those are theirs and they have to keep them. A band you created, run alone and are the only member of goes with you. If you are the only person running a band that still has other people in it, you hand that band on first.

Deleting your account ends what it can do, not what has been billed: cancel the subscription in the Stripe portal if you have one, since the month already paid for is not refunded.

No guarantee of uptime

We aim to keep the app available and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will never go down, and we are not liable for a gig, a payment, or a decision that was affected by the app being unavailable at the wrong moment. Keep a note of anything genuinely time-critical somewhere else too, the same way you always would.

Fair use

Use the app for real band bookings and pay — not to store anything unrelated, and not in a way that tries to break it or reach data that is not yours. An account can be suspended if it is used outside that.

Languages

The site is written in English and offered in other languages for convenience. If a translation and the English ever disagree, the English version of these terms is the one that applies.

Governing law

Event Band Manager is run from the United Kingdom, and these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If something ever has to be settled in a court, the courts of England and Wales are the ones that decide it.

Bands outside the UK are welcome to use the app, and nothing here takes away a right your own country's law gives you as a consumer.

Changes and questions

These terms, and the app itself, may change as it develops. Changes are dated at the top; anything that changes what a band or a member can rely on will be flagged in the app, not just quietly updated here. If anything here does not match what you would expect, ask a manager of your band in the first instance, or write to us.
